Cancellation KNIFE 2025

Dear friends of KNIFE Solingen,
dear exhibitors, partners, visitors and supporters,

It is with a heavy heart that we must inform you today: KNIFE 2025 will not take place.

A recent report by the fire department revealed that parts of the ceiling in the Theater and Concert Hall Solingen, our event venue, no longer meet current fire safety standards. For safety reasons, the municipal building authority has immediately prohibited all events with high attendance and elevated fire loads in these premises. This decision affects not only KNIFE but also many other long-established events in the city. Specifically, it means: in 2025 and in the following years, KNIFE cannot take place at the Theater and Concert Hall until the building's renovation is complete. Unfortunately, it is no longer possible to organize an alternative venue for October 2025: the number of suitable locations in Solingen is extremely limited, and the extensive planning required for a new venue cannot be accomplished in such a short time.

Aber: But: KNIFE will continue!

In 2026, we will open the next chapter of KNIFE: the Solingen Ice Sports Hall has already proven itself as a venue for trade fairs and other large events. Starting next year, it will become the new location for KNIFE. With its large, flexible exhibition space, spacious outdoor areas for catering and workshops, and its central location, it is ideally suited to become the new home of the blade fair in Solingen. One major advantage of this new venue: in the future, KNIFE can once again take place at its traditional time in early May.

Important for exhibitors:

The booking process for 2025 has been stopped.

All applications already received will be automatically transferred to KNIFE 2026 upon request – so you do not need to re-apply.

We know that many of you will be just as disappointed by this news as we are.
