KNIFE AWARD

Presentation of the KNIFE AWARD

Each year at KNIFE Solingen, the KNIFE AWARD is presented. All knifemakers are invited to create a blade following specific criteria and submit it for consideration. The KNIFE AWARD carries a prize of €2,000, jointly sponsored by the German Blade Museum and the Friends of the German Blade Museum. A professional jury selects the winner, who will be announced at KNIFE Solingen.

New since 2024: The AUDIENCE AWARD
Also offering a €2,000 prize, this award—sponsored by Maxi Hänsch and her KNIFE LOUNGE—gives visitors the chance to vote for their favourite entry. The recipient of the AUDIENCE AWARD will also be announced at KNIFE Solingen.

WORKSHOPS

As part of KNIFE Solingen, we offer a variety of workshops. There will once again be workshops and seminars on Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA) in the Gerberstraße sports hall. Additionally, visitors can enjoy a selection of engaging workshops at the event venue itself. Topics range from “Building your own Kydex sheath” to “Sharpening knives like a pro”.
