Application and Participation Terms and Conditions

§1 General Framework

(1) KNIFE 2026 – the blade exhibition in Solingen – is a sales fair for high-quality knives and blades (handcrafted one-of-a-kind pieces, items from small series, serial models), for tools and materials used in knife making, and for literature on the subject.

(2) The fair will take place on May 9 and 10, 2026, at the Eissporthalle Solingen.

(3) The organizer of KNIFE 2026 is the Deutsches Klingenmuseum Solingen (hereinafter referred to as the “Organizer”).

(4) The fair presents individual manufacturers, not retail or second-hand goods dealers.

(5) Tables/booths may not be shared by multiple exhibitors.

§2 Application and Acceptance Procedure

(1) Applications to participate must be submitted via an online form.

(2) Submission of the application constitutes a binding application.

(3) The Organizer reserves the right to accept or reject applications in coordination with the Deutsche Messermacher Gilde and the Industrieverband Schneid- und Haushaltswaren.

(4) Participation becomes effective upon acceptance of the application by the Organizer.

(5) Approved participants will be presented in the exhibitors’ directory (online and printed).

(6) There is no legal entitlement to participation.

§3 Payment

(1) The amount of the participation fees can be found in the list at www.knife-solingen.eu.

(2) Accepted participants will receive an invoice for the participation fee (by email). Payment is due within two weeks from the invoice date.

(3) Withdrawal from the registration is possible free of charge until January 31, 2026. After this date, no refunds will be granted. Any fee entitlement already incurred shall remain in force accordingly.

§4 Communication

(1) Communication from the Organizer to participants will take place by email or by telephone.

§5 Prohibited Goods

(1) Exhibitors undertake to comply with the provisions of the Washington Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (WA/CITES) regarding the trade and sale of ivory, tortoiseshell, etc. When selling tropical woods or similar materials, the applicable German and European regulations must be observed.

(2) All goods must comply with German weapons law (e.g. no balisongs, no OTF switchblades, no knuckle-dusters, no sword canes, or other concealed weapons).

(3) The Organizer reserves the right to exclude exhibitors from KNIFE 2026 whose goods do not meet the above criteria or are likely to damage the reputation of the Organizer or the event (e.g. use of extremist symbols). This does not give rise to any claim for reimbursement or compensation.

(4) Customers must be informed, when selling knives or similar items, of the requirements of German weapons law and of the option to have goods securely packaged on site. Packing stations will be provided by the event organization.

(5) Any non-compliance of offered goods with food safety regulations must, where applicable, be communicated to customers (items in contact with food – Ministry of Agriculture).

§6 Venue, Access, Opening Hours

(1) Exhibitors will have access to the exhibition areas on Friday, October 24, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. for the preparation of their tables/booths.
On Saturday, October 25, 2025, the venue opens for exhibitors at 8:00 a.m. The fair is open to the public from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on this day.
On Sunday, October 26, 2025, the venue opens for exhibitors at 8:00 a.m. The fair is open to the public from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on this day.

(2) Tables/booths must be staffed on both days until the end of public visiting hours.

(3) All rooms at the venue are strictly non-smoking areas.

(4) Bringing dogs or other pets into the building is not permitted.

(5) Alcohol is not permitted at the venue.

§7 Insurance

(1) The Organizer holds public liability insurance for KNIFE. All other risks (accidents, theft, etc.) are borne by the exhibitors themselves.
